[Finished] Redemption (BTS - Mafia AU)
  • Cherry
  • *Three Days later*
  • ‘You look fantastic Cherry,’ Myung commented as soon as I walked out of her closet and into her bedroom. I scoffed as I dared to walk in front of the mirror.
  • I had to admit, Myung had good taste. The dress, which was actually made of two pieces, was really sexy. Myung had kept to my black colour scheme but it still looked stunning. The top part looked like a crop top with very thin straps and a piece of transparent material which I was sure was going to attract attention. The skirt was long and plain with a long slit that came up to my thigh.
  • I sighed as I turned around to look at Myung who was wearing a beautiful dress that showed off her baby bump. It was a long, strapless, champagned-coloured dress that really brought out her beauty. The top part across her chest was bedazzled with shiny jewels.
  • ‘I think the boys will be quite in for a surprise,’ Myung added as she walked next to me. I shrugged but smiled.
  • ‘They wouldn’t care if I am wearing a potato sack or a princess gown as long as I do my job,’ I replied but she just rolled her eyes at me.
  • The past three days have been rather uneventful, but then again, we did not leave the mansion. I spent most of my time with her and when I wasn’t with her, I was either with Yoongi at the computer labs or with Jungkook in the ring.
  • I have had some short conversations with most of the boys except for Hoseok. I could have sworn that that guy hated my guts and I hated him too. Well, not really hated him but I sure as hell loved teasing him. I knew he did not trust me and I could not blame him, especially knowing some of the stuff he and Bangtan went through. He was being careful and logical. He was not the only one either – I knew Jin and Taehyung were both rather wary of me but were more polite. It’s just that Hoseok never bothered to hide his distrust.
  • I sighed as I grabbed my sword but I heard Myung scoff. ‘Do you really need that? Wouldn’t a gun be easier to conceal?’ she asked.
  • ‘We’re going to a party with a bunch of mob people who all carry weapons. I don’t need to bother to hide it and although I can shoot a gun well, I prefer my sword,’ I said.
  • ‘Why do the Scarlets use swords? I’m not judging but I’m genuinely curious. I’ve had heard the rumours of swords being a stable sign of the Scarlets before and now I see you always with it as if it is a part of you,’ she commented.
  • ‘In a way it is,’ I replied as I made sure the strap was on properly. ‘It’s one of the first things we start learning as soon as we join the Scarlets. It’s almost sacred to us,’ I replied. ‘Besides, it’s silent and less easy to track or be used as evidence. It never jams or stops working. It serves its purpose well if you know how to use it,’ I explained.
  • ‘Makes sense I guess,’ she said with a shrug.
  • ‘Come on, let’s get you down Myung. I’m sure your husband is waiting for his lovely wife,’ I said as I linked arms with her. She giggled like a schoolgirl which made me smile. I was not sure if this was her personality or if it was the pregnancy hormones that were making her sweet and cuddly.
  • We reached downstairs to where all the boys were talking together rather loudly. Yet, it was like Namjoon had a radar because he looked up just in time, his eyes falling on his wife.
  • ‘Yeobo,’ he commented which made all the others stop talking and look. I could feel some of their eyes on me as well.
  • Namjoon approached her and took her hand in his. He pulled her in and kissed her quickly. Even though married, the public look of affection made her blush. ‘Joon,’ she whispered as she lightly pat his chest.
  • ‘What? You look ravishing tonight. It’s going to be so hard to focus on the party,’ he said without hesitation. He turned to me and smiled. ‘You look good too Cherry,’ he added with a genuine smile.
  • ‘Namjoon hyung is definitely right. I thought you’d pull it off but I wasn’t expecting this,’ Jimin said exaggerating as he pointed at me.
  • I scoffed a bit as I grabbed him by the tie and pulled him closer. He almost stumbled at my movements but he managed to hold on from falling. I smirked as I held his face closer. ‘Part of my many charms and talents,’ I said with a wink. I saw him smirk in response as I let go.
  • He dusted off his jacket as he tilted his head. ‘I’m sure you do have many,’ he replied. From the corner of my eye, I could see Hoseok roll his eyes but I chose to ignore him.
  • ‘Try not to attract too much attention Cherry,’ Jin said as I turned to look at him. He looked somewhat nervous to tell me this, almost as if unsure how to phrase his words. Was he scared of me? Did he think I would just strike them down if they said the wrong thing? ‘I don’t mean this in a bad way, but you’re a Scarlet and we all know the reputation they carry with them. I don’t know how other gangs will react to see a Scarlet there,’ he said which did make sense.
  • ‘And a traitor one at that,’ Hoseok said. I sighed as I looked at him. I could feel my temper flaring up, wanting nothing more than to punch his handsome, yet irritating face.
  • ‘Yes, I am a traitor, what are you going to do about it?’ I challenged as I took a step closer to him. He smirked as he glared at me.
  • ‘Maybe I’ll shoot you when you’re not looking,’ he said.
  • ‘Then you’re a coward,’ I responded back.
  • ‘Excuse me?’ he said, the smirk gone. His calm composure changed into one of anger at the not-so-lovely compliment.
  • ‘You heard me, only a coward would kill when they’re enemy is not watching,’ I snapped back.
  • ‘Oh because you’re such an empathetical assassin,’ he taunted. Before I could control myself, I felt my hand connect to his face. He stumbled back, his hand flying to his jaw. In the next few seconds, he had his gun pointed at me while I had my sword at his neck. I pressed a little, just enough to draw a little line but nothing dangerous.
  • ‘ENOUGH!’ Namjoon roared. Hoseok and I were both panting hard as we both refused to put our things down.
  • ‘Cherry,’ Yoongi whispered as he came to me. ‘Put it down,’ he whispered once more as I put the sword down and let Yoongi pull me steps away. I watch Hoseok lower his gun down as well.
  • ‘You know nothing of my life Hoseok. I’m not like you. I don’t have a family to love me or care for me. I did not choose to become a Scarlet. I never wanted to be the person I am today but my choice was taken away from me. I either listened to orders or watched people I care about die,’ I said as I continued to glare at Hoseok.
  • I watched Hoseok gulp but he did not say anything. It was almost as if I could see the wheels in his brain working but he kept his face emotionless and distant.
  • ‘You two need to figure things out. I cannot have the two of you fighting in there,’ Namjoon said calmly. I sighed and nodded. I owed him as much. I saw Hoseok nod as well. ‘Cherry, Yoongi, I want you riding with us. You’re in charge of Myung’s safety tonight. Remember what we talked about,’ Namjoon said.
  • ‘I got it covered,’ I said, putting my sword back in place.
  • ‘Try not to chop off someone’s head off,’ Yoongi whispered to me. I rolled my eyes but smiled as we began to make our way towards the cars. I dared to look behind me and saw Hoseok at the very back. He looked preoccupied – nothing like the usual cocky * and I found myself wondering what he was thinking about that has got him so serious.
  • A much shorter chapter but hopefully you'll still enjoy it. I wanted to give you something before the weekend and this might help with the pace of the story too. I look forward to your comments. - Tae's Misfit
